Recipe: Fourth of July Mocktail

So I decided to try a special drink for the fourth, without booze.  It was going to be hot out, so I wanted something cute for my MIL and I to drink.

I used this recipe, and it turned out great!  It tasted amazing, and was a huge hit.  Follow the directions to a "t", other wise you will not have the layered look!

Recipe: Vegan Tacos

Yes, I just said it.  I made some vegan tacos.  My hubs had some of this in the pantry, and I couldn't let it go to waste.  It was surprisingly really good.  Now I know what to make for our one day a week meatless nights.  I am at least "trying" to go meatless one day a week, to be healthy, and save money.

Wedding Wednesday: Getting Ready

Wow.  Getting ready the morning of.  So much fun.  Hair, makeup, breakfast delivered, flowered delivered..it went by so fast, but I was surprisingly calm, cool, and collected.  I give those props to an amazing wedding planner!  She made my life so incredibly easy throughout the process, especially the day of!

Recipe: Easy Summer Dinner

So my guy is on vacation right now, and the last thing I want to do is spend hours in the kitchen when we can spend time together, or work on the house.

So yesterday, I made one of my famous easy summer dinners.  There was nothing left.  I paired some potato coated mahi from Whole Foods with some steamed green beans, and some Red Lobster Biscuits.  Did you know they sell the mix at the store?  I used to make these by hand, and now-boom-I have a mix to use!  All you need is water, shredded cheddar cheese, and butter.

It took me about 30 minutes start to finish to make this meal, and it was incredible.  Is it bad DH and I at all of the biscuits?  Even thought the box says it makes 10?  Eh?

Wedding Wednesday: The Dress

It has been forever in a day since I have done one of these.  Moving cross country, doing a home remodel, and just getting settled in my fantastic "new" life just got in the way.  #Sorrynotsorry

I loved my wedding dress.  I needed something that didn't need a lot of alterations.  Mostly because I was going to be out at sea for 2 months before the wedding, and I didn't have time to freak out about a 5 pound weight loss or gain.

I went dress shopping with my girls, you can read that post here.   It was quick, and easy.  I looked at the BHLDN website before I even came to Chicago, and got the appointment in February for April.  It was tough.  I keep forgetting how the wedding industry is just booming all the time!

I knew when I tried this dress on, it was the one.  Simple, yet elegant, and perfect for the day.  I had a nice clip in my hair, as I didn't want the hassle of a veil.  I had some simple and elegant earrings, and had two sashes for the dress.  One was ivory, perfect for the ceremony, and the other was full of detail and sparkle for the reception.

Well folks, I have started to pare down my closet and sell some great items.  Some are new!  I just moved from Florida to Illinois, and need to just not be overtaken by "things".
